For
our premier issue, I thought it was only right to
kick off the Editor's Pick with my favorite (and
personal trademark) trend - shine. I adore all that
shine. If you share in my fetish, then you know
these are the five must haves of a true shine diva.

Kathy Van Zeeland. Anyone who knows me
and knows me well will attest to the fact that
I love Kathy Van Zeeland. Kathy, who started out
as a Saks buyer, believes "luxury should
be affordable" and that's what her bags emulate.
Laced with rhinestones and metallic materials,
her bags are truly a conversation piece. Some
may even call it gaudy, but as a true diva I say,
'Sign me up.'

Glitter/ Rhinestone bracelets. These small
trinkets can be very inexpensive starting at $10
for at least 5. I love a shiny bracelet because
it's the quickest way to dress up an outfit. A
tank top and jeans with an eye catching bracelet
suddenly gives you a sexy appeal without even
trying.

Rhinestone Jeans. Jeans - a black woman's
necessary evil. If you thought bracelets can spruce
up a causal look wait until you see what rhinestone
jeans can do for you. Because rhinestone jeans
are so easily identifiable, no one wants to spend
that extra dollar for a pair of jeans that they
can't wear everyday. Before you give up, try a
discount retailer like TJ Maxx or even eBay -
Yes, I said eBay. Some of you may be cringing,
but eBay is proven to be safe and if you're not
satisfied return them.

Metallic shoes. The metallic look is like
a glittering version of a neutral. If you've ever
had a pair of bronze metallic shoes, you know
you can wear them with just about anything.

Bronzer. Did you know that your skin can
be an accessory? Bask in your gift and give your
skin an extra glow with a tinted moisturizer.
Get the sun-kissed look of Ashanti or Beyoncé
by applying a bronzer on your cheeks and your
temples where the light hits. MAC has a great
